truth, and the issue of framing

Let us take as our example this throwaway teaser for the evening news, as heard tonight:

"In Mississippi no prom for one senior class because of a girl's choice of prom dates. School officials have their explanation tonight."

We're inured to these things because they happen all the time. We look at it as "neutral," with the promise that some further explication will take place in the future, and that we can then make a judgment based on the facts.

But really, it's too late. The judgment is already made, guilt already assigned, through the framing of the statement.

...because of a girl's choice...

Yeah. It's her fault. Through her secret and dangerous lesbian powers, she has single-handedly abolished the prom.
