they also seem to be tolerant of online fraud, known as phishing, hosting domains that try to trick people into surrendering their paypal or ebay information. They're not the only ones who have this particular problem, but they seem to be less able to deal with the issue than others.

yes, yahoo has apparently been cooperating with the chinese secret police in order to jail and censor journalists.

someone on NANOG had this to say:

nature, perhaps?"

at least with my local ISP, i know that the potential ties to various agencies are limited, and i know who to hold responsible for the privacy of my data.
