this ain't the planet of sound

i'm in a really pissy mood, and i don't know why. got snappy w/ linda earlier (apologized a little while ago). they moved the berwyn fireworks to chesterbrook - moved it from a town setting, where people could, and did, walk to the fireworks into a sprawling, overpriced suburban residential area. bah. and changed the name to eastown fireworks so we'd not notice...

was watching a fucking moronic parade (including the "inflatable uncle sam crazy cart") and then they showed some fireworks over NYC and i thought "looks just like baghdad."

the kids have gone upstairs, the dog is settling down. pixies are on the stereo. the TV is fucking off, finally. haven't had any real alone-time for days; that may be part of it. i finished Silk, and it's sitting at the base of my skull like some festering tumor with hair and teeth, some malignant absorbed twin chattering, background noise. i don't think i have the courage to write anything as brutal as ms. kiernan does. and i'm not sure how i feel about that.
