Revelation of the Day: The necessary nature of good and evil, light and darkness, yin and yang are reflected in basic plant biology - they draw sustenance from the sun, but light is itself a growth inhibitor (this is why plants bend toward the light: the growth occurs on the dark side of the plant). So while we gather the strength, energy, power to grow from the light, it is the darkness that gives us the space to grow. This is reflected in the Slavic concept of Belobog/Chernobog, and in the Hindu Trimuti: Brahma (the creator), Vishnu (the preserver), and Shiva (the destroyer).
Corollary Revelation of the Day: You can always count on the Hindus to have three parts to their dichotomies.
Yesterday's Revelation of the Day: It doesn't matter how much you've trained in falling techniques, slapping a hardwood floor hurts.
